If i went camping and slept in a 1 man tent, would i be safe from wild animals, such as bears, and moose?

well, anytime you camp in a tent you run the risk, but tjust make sure you keep food and anything edible that they can smell far away from you or preferably locked away in a cooler or vehicle. but yea other than that you should be fine.

Whatever the tent- you are never safe from wild animal. Remember- that in wild open place...animal is more powerful than you. So tent does not provide any protection....but your camping habit do.

Avoid throwing waste, food and use of scents in jungle. Animlas do not like to encounter we human beings....and they do not attack unless we come across them when we should not.

id pick a slighty bigger tent , just for the room, If a bear wants to come in and cuddle with you, it dont matter what tent you have.

keep your camp clean and no food left laying around, use a bearbag if you can ,, make sure its atleast 9 foot off the ground and not near the tree itself.

No tent is going to stop a determined bear or large cat, but I've heard the Alaskan Guide Tent sold by Cabela's has stood up well to bear attack.

The smallest available is a 4 man however.

Most wild animals are frightened by loud sounds, a referee's whistle or a sports air horn might be a good idea.

A Bear or moose could just walk right through any tent, big or small. Have you ever seen pictures of bears in Yosemite just ripping off a car door from top to bottom to get the food inside. On the TV show Alaskan experience, two people are living in a large canvas tent and constantly are on the lookout for the bears. There best defense besides a gun is a whistle, believe it or not.

Make sure to cook and store all food away from your tent. Tie up far from ur campsite.

Another preventive method is to get a bear proof container. This run about $70 but can be well worth it if u plan to do a lot of camping in bear country.
As previously mentioned loud noises scare away animals. Another rumered method is to urinate around your campsite.
Other than that no one man tent (or any tent for that matter) will keep you safe on it's own.
The biggest think to remember is if you dont bother they usually wont bother you if conflict is unavoidable try backing down or playing dead but DONT run. Stand still. Running will only encourage an attack.

No tent makes you safe from bears or moose. just dont keep food with you. you would be as safe as if you were with 2, 3 , 4 people it really dosnt matter

tents are made of cloth or some similar material, they will not stand up to a bear, mountain lion claws and teeth, or a moose's holves and antlers.
Consider it like the wrapper on a candy bar, it keeps it dry and cozy, but doesn't stop you from eating it.

If your talkin' strength that would be a no, even a multi person tent will not hold up to animals of that size but, I'm sure your referrin' to concealment ~ least hope you are!? If your goin' to try it I highly suggest that ya' leave no open or as far as that goes sealed food around! Plus clean up all scraps after chowin' down ~ Bears have a real likin' to Human food and their "smellers" can pick up the scent for quite a long distance away. Wouldn't hurt ta' keep a fire goin' (safe distance from tent), only drawback on that is you'd have to maintain it all night ;)... < ' ( (( > <
