My wife and I are planning a group family camping trip for the begining of June. We are thinking about trying the Mammoth, CA area. Any body have any suggestions for campgrounds out that way? Preferably w/flushing toilets, for my wifes sake.

    Thanks everybody!

Go behind the mountain in the Red's Meadow area, several campgrounds all w/ toilets and running water. The road should be open early June, great acces to hundreds of lakes, the San Joaquin river,Devil's postpile monument, rainbow falls etc. You can also try out the campgrounds in the Mammoth Lakes Basin or even at Convict lake, both areas offer nice camping but if you are going to enjoy the mountains and some peace and quiet then try out red's meadow, minaret falls or pumice flats campgrounds.

You might try June lake loop there are a few campgrounds there. And you would be walking distance from the lakes if you wanted to fish. There is a lot to see in the Sierras. Lots of history, talk to the rangers up their they will give you good info. Keep your camp clean and your ice chest in the Bear box and you wont have Bear trouble.
